Brooke is 26!

A classic example of willing to try anything with me including lifting dad in a pyramid.

I just want to wish Brooke a late happy 26th! She is a great sister and friend and I am so lucky to have such a fun sister to be with! Brooke teaches me to have fun-- which is what we do when we're together. She also teaches me to lighten up and be forgiving. She is a tough girl who has a sweet soft inside and well-- I love you tons! Hope this next year is a good one! I just wanted to end with some of the top memories of us (that I can come up with right now-- I am sure I will think of some later!)

• Top of the list is D.C. in the "Aaron Space Museum"-- you thought that it was a man named Aaron and not Air and Space. But while there we were in one of our goofy moods and Randy ditched us even though we tried to keep up with him and then we decided to have random people take pictures of us in front of random spots like the bathroom and hall signage rather then the actual exhibits. But the fun didn't end there-- no-- we found the flight simulator machines and about peed our pants doing it-- or did you pee? Then when Randy found out we found flight simulators he was upset that it was closed. Haha for ditching us.



• All our softball games but one in particular stands out and that was the Firecracker tournie. It was hot and we were getting killed by all these "professional" softball players and Tiffany was yelling at everyone and then you and I got mad at each other because I wasn't catching your pitches and so you yelled at me to catch them-- so I yelled back at you to pitch them better-- then we could not stop laughing at ourselves and the situation and the team was getting mad-- oh good times!



• Our trip to Arizona-- basically everything about that with you was fun/ funny! Lance and I kept getting in trouble with Dad so we started doing signals to each other saying how bad we wanted to jump out of the van!



• Doing the Big Shot with you and Randy in Denver. "This isn't fun!" or "Pull it!" Are forever classics!



• Doing the roller coaster in Primm with you and nearly breaking our necks with the jarring!



• When we were little all the times we would play tag in our day bed at night. What a clever game-- we need to try that again sometime.



• All the many game nights. I have always been known to be the gamer in the family and I appreciate how you are ALWAYS up for a game!


• I just love how you are always up for anything. You are not afraid to act goofy with me-- especially when trying to get on the jumbotrons at ball games (which we have done successfully a few times!) You're the best!

Anyway, I could go on and on and I am laughing thinking of them but I love you and am so grateful for you in my life! I can't wait to continue to make more memories! Love you-- Jami

So I have to admit to the most pathetic reality tv watching experience I have ever had! Tonight's episode of the Bachelorette I cried. And not just once-- no, no,-- not twice-- but three times! I have always been a bit of a baby but I have officially hit a new low! In my defense it was an intense episode where Deanna meets the 4 remaining dudes families and the first time I cried she was meeting the brothers of Jeremy (one of my faves)-- why the bros you ask-- well both parents passed away. I cried because he went into more detail of his moms passing and read a journal entry of when she actually died-- okay-- if you didn't cry, shame on you. The next cry was because the second dude-- Jason (my other fave) has a three year old son (same as Chase) and he hadn't seen his son since starting the show so when he saw him for the first time the son ran for him and gave him one of those movie hugs and it was happy sad-- but then when he had to leave at the end the son didn't want to let go-- a sad sad-- anyway-- even though I cried both at the beginning of that date and at the end I count it as one cry. The last cry I had was when she didn't pick Graham-- which was fine because he was holding back and not letting Deanna into his life-- emotionally--so she had to let him go. He took it well-- too well sort of laughing it off but you could tell he was distraught and then he gave her this "goodbye" letter and made her doubt her decision and for some reason I just got teary-- no tears rolled out just watery-- anyway, it was a very thrilling/ entertaining episode. Can't wait until next week to see who she cuts.

Happy Birthday Blog #4

Just kidding-- I wanted everyone to think I was posting yet another birthday blog but alas-- it is just a post about using our new slide. We broke it out for only the second time since we bought it but we had a great time-- at least I think we did. It felt a little like 7 Peaks here. I counted it up and throughout the day we had 29 kids and Callie was supposed to bring her two-- soon to be three-- but discovered Ella had come down with the flu so she decided not to spread the crypto stuff and not come! Anyway, we had a fabulous time mingling with the moms while the kids shared the slide-- and they all shared nicely I might add. It was a little much for Chase he likes it better with less people but he still manages to get in a few rounds as well! Thanks all that came-- next time I will try to stagger the time slots a little better even though it went okay!

My dad decided that for my birthday party he wanted to take us all miniature golfing. The lowest score would win a prize! So we all took him up on the challenge. (Tyler was at a baseball game and missed). We had so much fun and I loved being together. Randy and my dad tied with 55 points although my dad thinks Randy cheated so he is calling himself the sole winner. (I have been known to call Randy a cheater a time or two-- either it is true or we are just bad losers-- jury is still out.) Griffin had two hole in ones and I will admit I took last-- the birthday girl just couldn't catch any breaks. I guess the tour will have to wait. Too many candles theses days.

My Happy Birthday Week

Most people who know me know I love birthdays-- especially my own and I like to drag it into a week long celebration if I can. It works out the best when your birthday is in the middle of the week like mine was this year-- so I have had the best birthday week. My birthday was on Wednesday and I woke up to my awesome blog that Debbie wrote for me. It was really sweet of her and made me teary. I have the best in-laws and especially a great friend in Debbie! After I read the blog I took a nice warm bath and read my book club book. Then I got to meet friends for lunch at PF Changs, but before I left my birthday surprise from Randy came-- a grandfather clock-- I absolutely love it and have the perfect place for it! So then I had to jet to lunch. It was great because it was Callie's birthday too. I love having the same birthday as one of my best friends. We have a lot of birthday laughs and I am so blessed to have her in my life. Next up on the birthday agenda was a birthday party at the Grandma Bums house (the Ohran's). I topped the night off with an episode of So You Think You Can Dance. Yippee!

You would think that was plenty of celebration but Thursday I woke up and journeyed to Park City with Debbie for the day. We had a great time and found a few good bargains along the way. Then I came home and watched some US Open footage. For dinner we had Mag Fresh and watched the Celtics come from behind to humiliate the Lakers-- yay! Then I watched the tivoed results to SYTYCD! It was a great day!

Again-- birthday week not over. Randy had arranged for us to have Friday be the day he and I celebrate so he took the day off-- which was the best part of all! He had set up a massage for me-- heaven on earth! After that he had arranged for Chase to spend time at cousins and Grandmas house while we spent the day/ night together! We went golfing at Sleepy Ridge-- which I had never been there and found it to be a really fun course and I have to say I played pretty well-- in fact, I think I will start to prepare myself for the LPGA! I shot a 48-- I would have been better but my last 2 holes just did not cooperate with what I told them to do! Anyway, it was really fun! Then we headed up to SLC where we intended on spending the night but after dinner I suggested we save the money and go sleep in our own comfy bed. So we came home and sat in the hot tub and went to bed. (Chase still slept at Grandma's house). It was a fabulous night and reminded me of the old care free days we had so many of before. I have the best husband in the world. He is my best friend and takes the best care of me and Chase. He makes me laugh and I just always want to be with him! He is the best dad there is! Chase is the luckiest boy! It is hard to find a man that loves his family more than himself and wants nothing but the best for them and I got so lucky to have that in Randy! Thank you Randy-- I know this birthday week was for me but I want you to know how much I love and appreciate all you do for me. I am so happy! I hope you know that-- especially since tomorrow is Father's Day.

So you would think the parties are over by now but we got to meet our friends Monroe and Summer (and Monz jr) for dinner at Bombay House tonight and tomorrow my family is celebrating birthday/ fathers day! I just want to thank everyone who has spent this time with me because that is the reason I love this time so much-- another excuse to go to lunch or gather together and make new memories. Let the fun just never stop!

Okay, so I totally just hacked into Jami's blog! Thanks Randy for the tip about the password :)

I just wanted to wish you a happy birthday Jami! Most of you probably know that Randy met Jami very soon after he got home from his mission- like maybe within the first week he was home. As Randy's sister, I had a list a mile long of the girls I wanted him to date when he got home from his mission. Roommates I lived with, friends I met in Israel, cute girls in my BYU ward...the list goes on. Jami was NOT on that list. I was a little frustrated that Randy met her and fell in love in all of one second and did not even give ONE girl on my list a shot!!! I couldn't be happier that he found Jami and that list wasn't needed! Coming from a family of 4 boys, you look forward to who your new "sisters" will be. I couldn't ask for a better sister than you! You are a great sister and a best friend! I look forward to a summer full of swimming, sliding (on your costco purchase), exercising, disneyland, and projects with you! I hope you have a great birthday!!!

Weekend Update

This past weekend Chase and I took a trip up to Pocatello, Idaho to see my Grandma and Grandpa Geisler. My nephew Ethen's baseball team had a tournie up there so we used it as an excuse to visit them-- not that we need an excuse. It was really great to spend some quality time with them and reacquaint ourselves with Pokie-- it is growing-- they are getting a Costco soon. I am posting the only pictures I took of the trip.

A Brand New Day

So it is still overcast and a little rainy but I have a much better attitude. We woke up and had an easy going morning but then packed up and went to the Been Museum. Chase had a great time and I feel much better about this activity as opposed to yesterday.

However, in my lazy day yesterday I watched The Ellen Degeneres Show. She had these funny web gems on and I thought this one was really funny.

Bad Mom day

Today has been one of those bad mom days where we sit around doing absolutely nothing-- except watch tv/ movies. So far Chase has watched one Curious George episodes, one Dora, Toy Story 2, and Alice in Wonderland. I am justifying it by saying he was playing with his "dudes" while this has been going on and I can take a picture of the tremendous mess he has made to prove it, but I have just been in a lazy, no energy, do nothing mood myself. It probably all started when I woke up and saw that the weather people were all correct in their prediction of rain. (Why is it they are always right in the predicting rain but seem to be wrong on the days they predict sun). Anyway, I am just done with the bad weather and finding indoor activities to entertain Chase-- so we took a day off. Tomorrow will be better-- we may have to go to the Dinosaur Museum or something-- again! We'll see. Now I am thinking of redeeming myself by making dinner and not just have it be fend for yourself night-- again.
