Well, today was the big day. Dave and Rox tied the knot. Everything went pretty much according to plan-- everything except the ring boys part. I will say in his defense he was raring to go at the start but we had gotten there a couple hours earlier to help and to do a run through and by the time the wedding got started (a slight delay in getting started) the new tux and the "important" duties of the ring boy had lost their lustre. He was becoming very uncooperative and we were really wondering what kind of a show he was going to put on for everyone-- and, well, he did not disappoint. Once it was his turn to walk down the stairs and down the aisle he refused to go. I can still see his precious face sticking through the banisters of the stairs as I am pleading with him to come down and he was just shaking his head no. So, I inevitably had to walk myself up the stairs and escort him down with some prodding and a little force. He, luckily, came with me with not much further drama-- other then a slight fall on one of the steps. Once he got in place standing next to his dad he immediately began entertaining himself and the rest of us in the audience with his "funny faces". (Oh, this was after he was twirling the ring pillow and the rings fell to the floor.) Once he decided the funny faces were a hit he kept it up-- which I decided to mistakenly take a picture. After that he left his post because he just had to see the picture I took-- thanks to digital cameras. Then he decided he could come up with other funnier picture insisting I take more. Oh what joy. I must say he was doing all this action without disrupting the event. I did not get to see much of the actual wedding due to my personal distraction but it was beautiful and so great to see them get married. I have to say that I realized afterwards just how many others were entertained by Chase and one even gave the comment that he did his job by keeping it interesting. Lucky for us the bride and groom have a sense of humor and almost expected this when they asked Chase to be the ring boy-- especially since I warned them. All in all it was a great day. We are so happy for them and love them both so much! Thanks for letting us be a part of the wedding party and here's to many years of wedded bliss!

Guess Who's 33

So I am terrible-- it is Randy's birthday and I had all the best intentions of doing a lovey-dovey blog about how much I love him and all that fun stuff but I have found myself just on the go all day and this is the first I have had a chance to sit down and blog about him so-- there are no pictures and no fancy-schamncy clever poems or lists just a simple: I love you with all my heart. I think I am the luckiest person in the world to be married to my bestest friend. I love all that you do for me and Chase. I love how you can make me laugh. I love how you spoil me. I love how perfect we are together. I could not have found a more perfect fit for me. As your sister Debbie often says, "there's a lid for every pot," I am sure glad your my lid. I love you-- always and forever-- no matter what!

5 Years

I just wanted to congratulate Randy on 5 years at Xactware. Five years ago today he started working at this incredible company that has blessed our lives. I remember the day he got the call that he had gotten the position. We were so excited. Little did we know how much our lives would change and just what a great company we had lucked into. I am so proud of Randy. He works really hard and he loves what he does and the people he works with. Here's to many more happy years at Xactware.

*Just a side note this is a picture of us mini-golfing at Cascade-- we had to get a picture of Randy when we got this great view of him with their new building behind him. The new building is beautiful and has the most amazing views!

Biggest Mistake

For Christmas this year-- Chase got a Pirates of the Caribbean Lego set that has a bazillion pieces. Lately, whenever Chase goes to his grandma's house he LOVES to play with the legos-- so we decided to get his own set for here. In doing this we made two mistakes-- one was getting a set that has a specific purpose like a pirate ship (Grandma just has a box of legos that you use your imagination to build whatever you want), and the second mistake was actually following through with the idea to purchase. If you can't tell by the pictures this thing contains a ton of pieces, some even undetectable to the naked eye. I think half of those ones have ended up in my vacuum but really? I have a really deep feeling this toy may mysteriously disappear like the annoying Hungry Hippo Game did last year. (Yes, a fun game but to my kid those marbles were to irresistible to leave in the box-- oh and the heads of the hippos just never seemed to stay on the actual hippo.)

Hello 2009

So we this year we decided to ring in the new year on the slopes. Debbie, Roxanne, Chelsey, Brandon, Shell (who remained in the lodge), and technically the kid from MVHS since we rode the lift with him every time, all spent New Year's Day at Sundance. We had a BLAST! This is an activity we had never done together and are hoping to make it a new tradition. It was nice to get together and enjoy an activity that I, for the most part, had given up. Growing up I had spent many winter months on the Sundance slopes hanging with friends etc. But since adulthood and the fact that I had to start paying for these expensive activities myself-- well-- other things have taken precedence. Thanks to this latest romp-- I am highly considering a comeback-- as long as it was as enjoyable as yesterday! Thanks ladies for the idea and the invite! Maybe we shouldn't wait for next year-- let's do it again soon!
