So Long Preschool!

Chase's preschool photos-- notice that he has discovered the "fake smile"-- stll cute nonetheless!
So against my wishes, Chase has graduated preschool and now just has to wait a long summer to start kindergarten. He is ELATED! He will miss Miss Ann and his classmates but he is thrilled about starting kindergarten and asks everyday how much longer until he goes. I try to tell him we have a fun summer to play and swim first but he is still very excited. Thanks to Miss Ann for a great two years of learning. I got teary pulling away for the last time. I am sorry but no one told me the process of our kids growing up would be this difficult.

Disneyland on a Moments Notice

Goofing around at the hotel!

The kids after going fishing on the disney boardwalk. They all caught a family of turtles and dolphins-- I think between them all they came home with 10 or so new stuffed animals! Don't you just love stuffed animals?

A new photo op near the Toy Story ride-- very fun indeed!

In line at Toy Story-- my favorite!

Kodes with his "lollipop" (chase corrects us if we call it a sucker)-- all in the tea cup!
So the other day Debbie calls us up and asks if we are up for a trip to Disneyland leaving in a few days! We had talked about it for a month but never thought it was happening until that call-- luckily for us Randy got he time off and we were outta here. You know how we love Disneyland and having a chance to go with Randy's family was something we didn't want to miss! We had a blast. The weather was sooooooo great and from what we hear we missed out on more of the same crummy weather here. Anyway, we all had so much fun-- Chase especially. He LOVES his Lewis cousins and I love watching them together. It is a very special friendship that we cherish deeply. Thanks again for the spur of the moment vacation-- we had a great time.
Quick highlights:
  • The "technical difficulties' that shut down all of Tomorrowland--come to find out that it was a suspicious backpack someone left. Loved being on pirate island with the scare of a bomb threat.
  • First trip where we went strollerless for all but the last day.
  • Getting to skip to the front of the line at Toy Story due to Deb and Quince's technical difficulties.
  • Getting to skip to the front of Autopia due to the technical difficulties at Mullholland Madness for Randy and the three boys.
  • Forgetting to go on Small World-- how did we not do that ride?
  • Riding Winnie the Pooh approximately 20 times.
  • Breakfast AND lunch at the hotel everyday-- a first for our family but certainly not the last-- loved this money saver!
  • Debbie getting busted for scalping.
  • Favorite rides-- Winnie, Splash, Pirates, Mullholland, Grizzly, and Toy Story.

Racing for the Cure

I am falling behind in my blogging-- so here is last weeks actions: We participated in the Race for the Cure in SLC! I think just about everyone was there-- they estimated 20,000 people! So it wasn't really a "race" per say more like a "come-and-walk-for-a-cure" but it was so fun. My amazing aunt Barbara was diagnosed with breast cancer a few months ago and is in the process of kicking it trash-- but as a family , the Watts (as many as could) all came out to show our support for this cause. It feels like such an insignificant thing but I was glad to be able to share a small moment with her in her battle. We all had hot pink wigs and bright pink t-shirts so you couldn't miss our clan! Anyway, Randy and I made the night out of it-- we took Chase up the night before and went to the Children's Museum, swam in our hotel pool, and just had fun. then we woke up-- "ran" the race then went and had breakfast/ lunch with our group at the Little America. While we were there we saw the Lakers all getting on the team bus to head over for shoot around (they were staying at the Grand America) so Randy and Chase and others ran over to get a closer look and see if we could manage any pictures but sadly the only one that really acknowledged them was Luke Walton. My aunt Bobbie even tried to use the survivor of cancer card to see if Phil would take a picture but he didn't even look up-- just completely ignored! Guess we can all have even more reason to hate them. (Not sure if the Boozer jersey Chase was wearing really helped)! Anyway, we went back and ate a great lunch and had a great time! Thanks to the Kerr's for arranging and inviting-- it was awesome!
BTW: We also saw Wilford Brimley eating at our restaurant-- just a day filled with high profile celebs! he he
