This, That, and the Other

I have been meaning to blog some things for awhile-- so here is a recap of the latest and greatest... First, congrats go out to Quincy and Debbie and the gang-- another state title! Way to go guys!

The students at Lone Peak chant "We love Quincy" and this year they added a little flare to the chant! Pretty funny!

Here is Chase with a few classmates at his very first lunch at school-- he loved every minute and of course he picked the pizza!

This weekend Chase lost his first tooth-- or should I say got his first tooth pulled since the one behind it was growing fast and furious! Thanks Dr. Bott-- CHase was a proud dude-- couldn't wait to show his teacher so he could put a sticker by his tooth chart.

And finally Tessa at Easter-- I had to also get a picture of her behind her push along cart-- she doesn't walk behind it she runs!

Happy Easter everyone! I think she's adorable!

Egg hunt at Lone Peak-- thanks Deb!

Disneyland April 2011

Our first time doing the canoes!

Tessa not so sure about the characters at the character breakfast!

Dancing from a distance!

Getting a little closer-- not so excited!

Getting ready to chauffeur us through the crazy ride!

In line at Indie

The gang on Chases first time on Indie!

So this trip we decided we were going to try to make it a time of firsts. As often as we go you would think we have done it all-- but there is still plenty we haven't done! So this time we rode the canoes (Chase's second favorite thing to do now), overpaid for a yummy character breakfast in the park, and Chase went on Indiana Jones! He LOVED it and says, "It's my new favorite and nothing is going to overtake it!" He was thrilled that he didn't crash us because when it's your first time you are required to drive-- and he swears he didn't look in the eyes! This trip was fun-- Brooke wasn't going to come and then she surprised us by showing up Monday with Dre! We also had another add on because Kelli brought her neighbor Cameron, who's Grif's age along. He was a really fun addition to the trip. All in all it was a fabulous trip where we forged new memories and just spent quality time together. Tess was a trooper. She was completely off schedule the entire time but she rolled with the punches and adapted and was super happy! Yay! I especially need to thank my friend Shannon for letting us borrow her Minnie outfit! Tess, already the adorable baby she is, was the hit of the show when she dressed up like Minnie. She got so many comments! She was loving it! I will say before I conclude that one of my favorite memories of the trip was not in the park but in the hotel. It was one of the nights I stayed home with Tess to put her down but so did my mom, Brooke, Kelli, and Lance. We hung out ate dinner in the room from McDonalds that I went and got for us in my jammies! They insisted I put down the day old Turkey Leg leftovers and go get dinner the way I was chomping it down! It is moments like those where we sit around cracking each other up that I love! So this trip was a success!

King of the Day

The day finally arrived-- the day Chase got to be King of the Day! He's been looking forward to this day since he entered kindergarten. It's the day when he gets to be in charge. He got to be the teachers helper and decide who does what. We also make a poster about him and he gets to use a pointer to explain to the class each picture. Then he gets to choose three people who get to ask any question about him. He chose Christian-- who asked him what his favorite season is: winter (really? Uh, I don;t think so). Then he picked Austin who asked what his favorite ice cream was: vanilla (uh-- again, I don't think so I'm pretty sure that when we take you to the ice cream store you usually pick rainbow sherbet-- but whatever), then he picked Fisher who asked do you like to sled: yes (and yes, he does). Then he brought cookies to share for later that day. Oh Chase-- you are a character. I just love this kid! He is the best! Some quick facts about Chase to remember: He LOVES school. He was sick one day and cried when I told him he had to stay home. He LOVES his teacher and his classmates. He especially loves recess and Monday's because that's computer lab day (and don't call it computers-- it's computer lab day) which is another great thing about Chase-- he loves to correct you when you are wrong-- hmmm not sure where he gets that from (because we are never wrong to correct one another). He is very tender hearted and loving. He has many friends and worries about others. He is sensitive too-- if you hurt his feelings he still gets pretty upset (teary) and demands an apology-- we'll see if we grow out of this stage in the next year! He is my best buddy and the BEST helper. He loves his little sister. He thinks it's pretty great making her laugh so it is a huge asset when I am trying to get something done, I just ask Chase to make her laugh! He is very active-- loves anything outdoors but he also can occupy himself nicely indoors playing his ds or the wii or computer games (we've lost too many puffles from Club Penguin to count). He LOVES his family, wrestling with dad, hanging out with mom, and anything with cousins and grandparents! We just love our little monkey. And even though I keep begging hm t stop growing he insisted on having another birthday but he promised me next year he would turn six again! I guess we'll see!

Happy Birthday Monkey!

His donut cake with a sparkler candle!
Pictures are pathetic-- I know-- I forgot my camera and ended using my camera phone-- which as you can tell did not do a good job at all. Almost not even worth posting any pictures-- but oh well. So Chase has turned another year older. Urgh! I cannot believe he is 6! He just gets more and more fun with each day! Anyway, this year he wanted a party at Nickelcity, mostly because of the laser tag. He got to invite a few friends and of course cousins! He had a blast. I will say that having is birthday on April Fool's is really starting to be fun! This year we wrapped all his presents in princess paper and sesame street paper. He laughed. He opened his usual underwear first-- but this year I even wrapped up rocks and things. But the real winner of the night was the new scooter and his ds game-- although Cooper and Grif enjoyed his new basketball-- because after the party we came home and let the cousins sleepover. The sun was still shining so we played outside for a bit. I think it was one of the few birthdays he's had that it was a really nice day. I swear you expect the sun for his birthday but it usually doesn't happen! However, this year broke tradition and gave us sun! One other noteworthy benchmark-- this was the first Friday birthday he's had since he was born. He was born on a Friday and so now we have gone full circle through the days of the week! Crazy!
